Spend a fall Sunday by the sea at Pier Village for the JETTY “Fish Fry” Surf Gathering & Contest, a full day celebrating New Jersey’s surf culture with waves, music, community and plenty of Shore-style fun.

Bring your board and join a free, open surf session for all levels, or stick around to watch the action as surfers take on the Alternative Surf Contest. Featuring fishes, twin fins, mid-lengths, logs and other alternative shapes, the lighthearted competition puts the focus on style, creativity and expression. Contestants will be randomly assigned boards from Matador’s collection of retro and alternative shapes.

Beyond the beach, make a day of it at Pier Village. Browse the shops, grab a bite or a drink, explore the boardwalk, and settle in for live music and local surf-centric vendors throughout the afternoon. With the ocean as your backdrop, it’s an easy excuse to linger long after the last wave.

Whether you’re paddling out, cheering from the sand or simply looking for a reason to spend the day at the Shore, the Fish Fry brings together everything that makes a fall day at Pier Village worth the trip.
